The Anatomy of a Website
Posted on November-26-2010
Many of our valued clients come to us for a website, and they have not a clue, as to what languages actually makes up a website. This is perfectly understandable as we are in the web design industry, and it is our job to know. However, over the years of being web designers and web developers, we have come up with an interesting perception, as to how the languages of a website correlate with nature; moreover, the human-body.
See, to us, technology and nature are one in the same. The understanding provides us with daily motivation in what we do. Having such a perception truly makes the world look beautiful, logical, and intelligent. (well that is of course until “we” get in the way of such a magnificent creation…)
Okay, enough with the bantering. Let’s get to it. I have created a diagram for you to follow along with, but here it jest of the languages that go into a website, as it correlates with the human-body.
HTML – This is the basis of all websites. It is the very structure and the foundation of all websites. Think of HTML as the bone structure of the human-body. Simple.
CSS – This language attaches itself to the bone structure, and gives the body nice features that provide uniqueness. Think of CSS as the skin color, hair color, and eye color of the human body.
JavaScript/Flash – While we are not fond of flash, and find JavaScript to be a much more effective solution, there performance are one-in-the-same. JavaScript/Flash takes the features of a body to the next level, providing even more fashion and uniqueness to a website. Think of JavaScript/Flash as the clothes, distint features (such the way one smiles), and any accessories for your body. These accessories allow people to be voted best dressed, innovative, cool, beautiful, or coordinated, among other labels.
PHP – Simply put, this language is the brains. PHP will give your website intelligence, memory, and learned behavior, among other things. It will also allow yourwebsite to work well with others; thus, creating popularity among your internet community.
Yes, websites are indeed much like people. Then again, technology and nature are one in the same. I hope you found this blog to be informative and creative. We love building web technology for reasons such as this, and we look forward to continuing on with projects like yours.
